Here are some links for further exploration and introduction to some of the themes and people Merrilee mentioned in our conversation.
- 2021 Senior Australian of the Year, Dr. Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr Baumann’s gift, Dadirri
I pronounced it wrong. (Da Di dee). The Aboriginal languages I know pronounce the rr as a rolled r but it is silent as used by this language group. It is quite fitting for your podcast – listening to people’s stories, which heals pain, anger, etc.
This video is narrated by Judy Atkinson who promoted a lot of Miriam’s work (I think it is through her book I found out about it).
- DADIRRI (Official Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr Video, 3-minute promo)
This 3-minute video is awesome – narrated by Miriam
“To know me is to breathe with me, to breathe with me is to listen deeply”…”To listen deeply is to connect”… “Dadirri the deep inner spring inside us, we call on it and it calls on us”.
- I also didn’t pronounce Makarrata properly (conflict resolution/treaty/to bring about peace) I said Madarraka.

- Natures Quest with Claire Vanderplank at Sacha Boodja Sanctuary
https://clairevanderplank.com/upcoming-events/wa-nature-quest/
Venue: Sacha Boodja, 2.5 hours east of Perth. This place is lovingly cared for by Mandakini and Rumi, experienced spiritual practitioners who were called to the land over a decade ago. A very special granite outcrop area, they took over the land from a farmer and are now overseeing its regeneration. It has a special feeling of a centre for healing of the land in this area. It feels to me like a place of healing and hope, enlivened by the love and care it receives. In many cultures, rocks are considered wisdom keepers and here they seem to remember how this land can be harmony. Many potential sites for your AllOne time exist with wonderful granite boulders and trees.”
Mandakini and Rumi have consulted with local elders and some of the rock formations have been sacred meeting areas, especially the women’s site that men are not allowed to go to in keeping with Indigenous tradition.
Polarities – I am currently listening to “Activating your 5D frequencies” by Judith Corvin-Blackburn with intro by Barbara Hand-Clow who received the 9 Dimensions in the late 90’s from Plieiades. Judith talks about the polarities being a 3 D experience so as we spend more time in 5D (love, compassion, peace) the less we experience the polarities. So maybe rise above the polarities is the best way to think of it. (maybe transition??)

I went blank when you asked me about the scientific method and I remembered I had copied a definition in my essay above – here it is - “The scientific method is a series of steps followed by scientific investigators to answer specific questions about the natural world. It involves making observations, formulating a hypothesis, and conducting scientific experiments. Scientific inquiry starts with an observation followed by the formulation of a question about what has been observed. The steps of the scientific method are as follows:
- Observation
- Question
- Hypothesis
- Experiment
- Results
- Conclusion”
